On April 21, 2015, Marvel and Netflix joined hands once again to make an announcement regarding the renewal of Daredevil for 2nd season. Keeping the main star cast same; the guest appearances as well as recurring actors were changed and repeated from the 1st season.

  • Released altogether on March 18, 2016, the 1-hour episodes were aired continuously for 13 hours as it comprised of 13 parts with the first episode titled as “Bang” henceforth carrying forward with others stories like “New York’s Finest”, “Regrets Only”, “The Man in the Box”, “A Cold Day in Hell’s Kitchen” and so on.

As of now there are no such latest updates as the entire season got aired altogether on March 18, 2016, thus gathering almost 8 to 9 million viewers and ocean of appreciation from audiences as well as the critics.

In fact, critics mega IMDb gave a rating of 98 out of 100 of which 51 reviews came from the onlookers and rest 22 came from the critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave 75% based on 32 reviews which came from the audiences and critics gave 13 votes with a 68% approval. Though Daredevil season 1 gained more popularity than season 2 but still with just looking at the figures and critics rating, the production unit and website turned over to renew with 3rd June.

Although Daredevil season 3 release date hasn’t been announced as of yet, but we do know that the series isn’t returning until after the first season of The Defenders air in 2017; which has significantly pushed the season 3 of Daredevil to the next year. Therefore we expect our favorite hero to make an appearance before 2018.

It’s probably worth mentioning that the spinoff series, The Punisher is coming out in 2017, before Daredevil. Jon Bernthal will be reprising the role from Daredevil along with stars like Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll (yup, she is reprising her role as Karen Page in the series.), Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson. Steve Lightfoot is the showrunner, and the series is being produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios.
